Re Cherry Hills Village Local Elections

Doug Tisdale Seeks To Retain Council Seat

Doug Tisdale, District 1 Councilman in Cherry Hills Village, has announced his intention to run for a second four-year term as city councilman. The election will be held on April 6, 2004. Doug was elected to his seat four years ago in a vigorous campaign battle, gathering almost a two-to-one vote advantage. Doug’s wife, Pat Tisdale, passed away in January, and he called upon her memory in explaining why he is running for re-election.

“My wife, Patricia C. Tisdale, was the premier municipal attorney in Colorado. She was the primary motivation for me to run for City Council in 2000. Serving a second term on the City Council is the greatest homage I can pay to my wife’s memory. I want to carry on Pat Tisdale’s legacy of excellence in municipal service. And I want all Villagers to know that I will continue to be ‘Your Voice in the Village.'”

Doug has already announced his platform, consisting of Eight Pledges:

I pledge to complete the process of improving cell phone coverage in the Village. I pledge to expand our dedicated Open Space in the Village. I pledge to work hand-in-hand with our new Blue Ribbon Panel to explore more opportunities for Open Space. I pledge to make our Channel 22 a vibrant source of arts, education, entertainment and information by, for and about all Villagers. I pledge to make high speed Internet access an achievable reality in every home in the Village. I pledge to honor and respect all Villagers and their attitudes, beliefs and opinions. I pledge never, ever, to tell an untruth to any Villager and to act at all times in compliance with applicable law. I pledge to serve.

The election will be a “walk-in” election, conducted at the Village Center on Tuesday, April 6, 2004.
